ESL Resources for Teaching Spanish Speakers

Level: B2-C1 - Upper Intermediate / Advanced

Time: 90 minutes

Summer is here and everyone has the beach on the brain, so why not bring it into your classroom?

In this lesson, students will talk about their all-time favourite beaches and confess to some of their bad beach habits. They’ll then read an article about how beaches in Spain are cracking down on poor beach behaviour, picking up useful vocabulary for discussion along the way.

Next, students will tackle the tricky language around paying a fine vs being fined, before taking part in a lively “You be the judge” task, where they work together to decide on appropriate punishments for five types of anti-social behaviour.

We think it’s a great way to get your students talking, as well as the perfect way to celebrate summer.
